I approach each design as if it were a painting on canvas, overlapping colors to achieve a multitude of hues, shapes and patterns. This imbues my work with the subtlety and movement of watercolor, while retaining the richness and depth that is only possible with glass. However, my canvas is a blank piece of glass and the paint I use is also glass – often powdered glass but can also be pieces of solid glass.  In order to make my image permanent I fuse it to F1500º. That takes about 20 hours. Most pieces require at least two firings – many three.
